Day 4 (08/02) – Check Your Spiritual Pulse

📖 Scripture: “Woe to you who are at ease in Zion…” – Amos 6:1 (NIV)

Complacency is subtle. It doesn’t shout — it whispers. It convinces you that what you’re doing is “good enough.” That staying the same is safer than growing. That delay is just discernment.

But in Amos 6:1, God speaks directly to His people living in comfort and spiritual apathy. They were in Zion, the city of God, a place of safety and blessing — and yet God issues a strong warning:

“Woe to you who are at ease…”

Why? Because their ease led to indifference, and their indifference made them blind to their true condition.

God is not against rest — He’s against resistance to growth. He knows that unchecked comfort can lead to spiritual stagnation. You may have survived some hard seasons, but don’t let the relief of today become the reason you stop pressing forward.

This verse is a wake-up call: don’t settle in spiritual autopilot. Don’t allow past victories or current comforts to keep you from the next step of healing, purpose, and growth. God is calling you to stay awake — and stay hungry.

🌱 Reflection:

Sometimes God’s most loving act is to disrupt our comfort to awaken our calling.

Journal/Prayer Prompts:

1. In what areas of your life have you grown spiritually complacent?

2. Are you hiding behind comfort instead of healing or obedience?

3. What step is God prompting you to take to wake up and grow?

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, forgive me for where I’ve grown too comfortable. Stir my heart again. Remove the apathy, renew my hunger, and help me rise from complacency into purpose. Keep me spiritually awake and sensitive to Your voice. I want to grow. I want to move forward — with You. In Jesus name. Amen.
