Obedience Turns Into Breakthrough
đź“– Scripture:
Then he said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.”—John 21:6
🙌🏻 Devotional:
Sometimes in life, we feel like the disciples—working hard, giving our best effort, yet seeing no results. All night long they cast their nets, but the nets came up empty. Then, at the break of dawn, Jesus stood on the shore. His instruction was simple: “Throw your net on the right side of the boat.” It wasn’t a brand-new plan, but a small shift made under His direction. When they obeyed, abundance overflowed.
This reminds us that success doesn’t always come from working harder, but from working in alignment with Jesus. One step of obedience can turn frustration into fruitfulness. Sometimes breakthrough is just on the other side of surrender.
Today, God may be asking you to release your own way and trust His. He knows where your “fish” are—whether it’s provision, purpose, or peace. Your role is to listen and obey, even when His instruction feels simple or unexpected. When you move at His word, you’ll discover He is the source of abundance and the revealer of purpose.
🙏🏻 Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that You are the one who provides. I confess that many times I try in my own strength and come up empty. Teach me to listen for Your voice, even in the ordinary moments of life. Help me to trust Your direction, even when it doesn’t make sense to me. I choose to cast my net on the side You show me, believing that You are my source of blessing and purpose. May my obedience not only bring provision, but also draw me closer to recognizing You in every area of my life. In Your mighty name, Amen.
