It’s God Who Arms Me with Strength and Keeps My Way Secure

📖 Scripture:

It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.” — Psalm 18:32 (NIV)

🙌🏻 Devotional:

This verse reminds us that our strength doesn’t come from ourselves, but from God. When David wrote this psalm, he was reflecting on God’s deliverance from his enemies and the ways God had equipped him to stand firm in battles.

• “It is God who arms me with strength” → Our spiritual armor, courage, and ability to endure come directly from the Lord. We don’t have to rely on our own power, which is limited, but on God’s power, which is unlimited.

• “Keeps my way secure” → God not only strengthens us for the battle but also guides our steps, protecting us from stumbling and leading us on the path of righteousness.

This verse is a declaration of dependence on God and a testimony that He equips us for whatever season we are in—whether it’s a battle, a transition, or a calling.

📝 Reflection Questions:

  1. In what areas of my life am I trying to rely on my own strength instead of God’s?
  2. How have I experienced God’s protection or guidance in the past?
  3. What does it look like for me to let God “arm me” in my current season? (e.g., through prayer, His Word, community)
  4. When my path feels uncertain, how can I remind myself that God is the one who secures it?
  5. Who in my life needs encouragement today to know that God is their strength and protector?

🙏🏻 Prayer:

“Lord, help me to pray with faith that trusts fully in Your character and promises. Teach me to align my desires with Your will, and to believe that You are already working on my behalf, even when I cannot yet see it. Strengthen my faith so that my prayers reflect confidence in Your power and goodness. Amen.”
