We Are God’s Handiwork Created in Christ Jesus

📖 Scripture:

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” – Ephesians 2:10

🙌🏻 Devotional:

This verse is a beautiful reminder that you are not an accident, nor are you defined by your past mistakes. You are God’s masterpiece—His carefully crafted handiwork. When He created you, He placed inside of you gifts, talents, and a divine purpose.

Notice the phrase “created in Christ Jesus.” This shows that our identity and purpose flow out of our relationship with Him. The “good works” aren’t just random acts—they are assignments God specifically prepared for you long before you were born.

When we walk in this truth, we no longer strive to prove ourselves. Instead, we rest in the confidence that our life has meaning, our steps are guided, and our work matters for eternity.

📝 Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I truly believe that I am God’s masterpiece? If not, what lies might be keeping me from seeing myself that way?
  2. What gifts or talents has God placed in me that I may not be fully using for His glory?
  3. How can I align my daily actions with the “good works” God has already prepared for me?
  4. Where in my life am I striving for approval rather than resting in my God-given identity?

🙏🏻 Prayer:

Father, thank You for creating me as Your masterpiece. Thank You that I am not defined by my past or by the world’s standards, but by Your love and purpose for my life. Help me to walk boldly in the good works You have already prepared for me. Remove doubt, fear, and striving, and replace them with faith, confidence, and obedience to Your will. Guide my steps so that my life reflects Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
