đź“– Scripture:
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” — Hebrews 4:15–16 (NIV)
These verses draw our attention to Jesus as our High Priest—not a distant figure in heaven, but One who knows exactly what it feels like to be human. He’s walked in our shoes, felt our struggles, faced temptation head-on, and yet remained without sin.
This truth is powerful because it tells us:
• Jesus understands our weaknesses — He doesn’t condemn us for struggling; He empathizes with us.
• We have access to His mercy and grace — not because we are perfect, but because He is perfect.
• We can approach God with confidence — not in arrogance, but in the assurance that Christ’s sacrifice covers us.
Approaching the throne of grace means running to God in prayer without fear—whether you’re broken, weary, or ashamed—knowing you will always find mercy for your past and grace for your present need.
Reflection Questions:
- Do you tend to hide from God when you feel weak, or do you run to Him?
- What difference does it make to know Jesus personally understands what you’re going through?
- How would your prayer life change if you truly believed you could approach Him with confidence every time?
