You Are God’s Masterpiece

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” — Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

When you look in the mirror, do you see a masterpiece? Or do you see flaws, failures, and all the ways you wish you could be “better”?
The truth is, our culture has trained us to chase fixes — fix the body, fix the finances, fix the image. But God isn’t interested in a polished surface; He’s after a transformed soul.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are God’s masterpiece — His intentional, handcrafted creation. The original Greek word here is poiema, where we get the word poem. You are God’s poetry in motion — His work of art, designed with purpose and beauty that goes far beyond outward appearance.
When we accept Christ, He doesn’t just touch up the canvas of our lives — He makes us new. This isn’t a self-improvement project; it’s a complete rebirth, so we can step into the good works He has already prepared for us. That means your calling is not something you have to invent — it’s something God has already designed for you to discover.
If you’ve been carrying baggage from your past — shame, regret, wounds, or lies about who you are — today is the day to set it down. A masterpiece can’t be seen clearly if it’s buried under dust and weight. God wants to reveal the beauty He already placed inside you and ignite the purpose He wrote into your story before you were even born.

Father, thank You for creating me as Your masterpiece. Forgive me for the times I’ve looked to the world for my worth instead of to You. Help me release the baggage that keeps me from walking in the purpose You’ve given me. Open my eyes to see the good works You’ve prepared for me and give me the courage to step into them with faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.
