What Lies Are You Believing?
🙌🏻 Devotional:
The enemy’s weapon is deception. Jesus said in John 8:44 that Satan “is a liar and the father of lies.” He tries to convince us we are worthless, unloved, and powerless. But God’s Word is our weapon of truth. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
When Satan Whispers:
- “You’re unloved” → God answers: “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3).
- “You’re too weak” → God declares: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
- “You’re defeated” → God promises: “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
The truth is this: 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to “take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.” Victory comes when we replace Satan’s lies with God’s truth.
❓ Reflection Questions
- What lie from the enemy do you most often find yourself believing?
- Which scripture truth directly cancels out that lie? (e.g., 2 Corinthians 5:17 – I am a new creation).
- How can you build a daily habit of declaring God’s truth over your life?
- What changes when you begin to see yourself the way God sees you?
🙏🏻 Prayer:
“Lord, I thank You that Your Word is truth. Today I renounce every lie of the enemy spoken over my life. When Satan says I am not enough, I declare Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ When he says I am abandoned, I declare Hebrews 13:5: ‘You will never leave me nor forsake me.’ Holy Spirit, help me walk daily in my God-given identity, rooted in truth and freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
