You Are Not Stuck

đź“– Scripture:

“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!” — Isaiah 43:18–19 (NLT)

🙌🏻 Devotional:

This passage comes at a time when Israel was in captivity, feeling hopeless, stuck, and forgotten. God had delivered them before (parting the Red Sea, bringing them out of Egypt), but here He reminds them: “Forget the former things.”

Why? Because the people were so focused on how God worked in the past that they couldn’t recognize what He was about to do in their present. Sometimes we expect God to repeat old miracles in the same way, but He says, “See, I am doing a new thing!”

  • “Do not dwell on the past.” Dwelling on past failures, regrets, or even past victories can keep us trapped. God is not limited by what has or hasn’t happened before.
  • “I am doing a new thing.” God is active. Even when we don’t see it yet, His Spirit is already working ahead of us, preparing a breakthrough.
  • “I am making a way in the wilderness.” A wilderness feels like a place of wandering, confusion, and dryness. But God transforms it into a place of direction and provision.
  • “Streams in the wasteland.” A wasteland is barren, but God brings life where nothing seemed possible.

This scripture is both a promise and an invitation: God promises He is moving, but He invites us to perceive it — to open our eyes and align our hearts so we don’t miss His work.

🙏🏻 Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

I thank You that I am not stuck, because You are the God of new beginnings. Your Word says to forget the former things, so today I release the regrets, the pain, and even the good things of the past that may hold me back.

Open my eyes to see the new thing You are doing in my life right now. Help me not to miss it because I am dwelling on yesterday. Lord, where I see wilderness, show me the path You have prepared. Where I see a wasteland, pour out Your living water and refresh my soul.

I trust You to lead me forward. My confidence is not in what I can do, but in what You are already doing. Thank You for making a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This passage is a beautiful reset scripture—a reminder that no matter how things look, God is always creating forward movement.
