Faith Is Our Firm Foundation for Assurance and Conviction

This verse defines faith as both assurance and conviction:
- Evidence of things not seen → Faith is like spiritual eyesight. It’s not based on what we see with our physical eyes, but on what we know to be true because of God’s Word.
- Substance of things hoped for → Faith gives reality and certainty to what we hope for in God’s promises. Even though we don’t yet see them, faith makes them as real as if they’ve already happened.
Faith is not wishful thinking—it is trusting God’s character. It rests on the truth that He is faithful, even when our circumstances say otherwise.
